BMA organized the Joint Task Force meeting to jointly discuss the preparation of comprehensive review report (final phase) under the Bangkok Master Plan on Climate Change 2013-2023

Air Quality and Noise Management Division under Department of Environment assigned Climate Change Strategy Sub-division to cooperate with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to organize the pre-meeting of 8th Joint Sectoral Task Force under the Project for Strengthening the Institutional Capacity for the Implementation of the Bangkok Master Plan on Climate Change 2013-2023 in order to monitor the progress of preparing the comprehensive review report of driving the final phase implementation under the Master Plan after kicking off the meeting of the project of preparing comprehensive review report being arranged in September 2021.

            Climate Change Strategy Sub-division under Air Quality and Noise Management Division invited the Director-General of Department of Environment to act as chairman of such meeting. This meeting was organized with the aim of the outline of comprehensive review report of driving the final phase implementation under the Master Plan, which consists of sub-aspects as follows (1) the overall outcome of implementation on greenhouse gas (GHG) emission mitigation and climate change adaptation planning at the city, sectoral, and project level, and (2) preparation of sectoral task forces under the Project for Strengthening the Institutional Capacity for the Implementation of the Bangkok Master Plan on Climate Change 2013-2023 for the 8th joint task force meeting. In this meeting, there were participants from different departments under BMA as task force members of each sector under the Master Plan, JICA expert team, and local consultants.

Director of Department of Environment said at the end of the meeting that this meeting would be beneficial for supporting the assessment of the implementation of the Bangkok Master Plan on Climate Change 2013-2023 in achieving the goals, including a synthesis of lessons learned during the implementation under the Master Plan so that to enhance the capacity of climate change operations in Bangkok Metropolis in the future for resulting in global warming mitigation in a real and concrete manner.
