BMA and JICA jointly organized the training module 2 for setting the new target for GHG mitigation after 2020 and preparation for developing the new Bangkok Master Plan on Climate Change by 2030<\/h3>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Between 16th and 17th January 2020 at Meeting Room 2, Department of Environment, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) City Hall 2 (Din Daeng), Climate Change Strategy (CCS) Sub-division, Air and Quality and noise Management Division, Department of Environment (DOE) and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) jointly organized the Training Module 2 for setting the target for GHG mitigation after 2020 and preparation for developing the new Bangkok Master Plan on Climate Change by 2030. In such training activity, it can be divided into 2 activities: the activity of climate change adaptation planning and GHG mitigation.<\/p>

With regard to adaptation, the training activity for adaptation planning was aimed to enhance knowledge, learning process, understanding of risk evaluation and its methodologies (disasters, vulnerabilities, and exposure), and prioritization of adaptation planning activities in alignment with the national adaptation guidelines under the National Adaptation Plan (NAP). With respect to GHG mitigation, it covers 4 sectors namely environmentally sustainable transport sector, energy efficiency and alternative energy sector, efficient solid waste management and wastewater treatment sector, green urban planning sector under the current Master Plan. The training activity aimed at enhancing knowledge, learning process, and understanding of the methodology for calculating the quantity of GHG emissions from each sector under the current Master Plan.<\/p>

Moreover, this activity was for training the participants to set up the Business as Usual (BAU) estimation of GHG emissions to be in line with the national guidelines under Thailand\u2019s Nationally Determined Contribution Roadmap on Mitigation 2021-2030 (Thailand\u2019s NDC Roadmap). In this regard, to promote the perception and understanding in the similar direction, JICA experts, local consultants of task forces, task force members, and relevant BMA staff were invited to the training activity and there was also to have further discussion during this training.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
